Bio Courtesy of Marcine (Amelung) Lohman #47436906:

Judith Ann Luttrell was the daughter of Shelton Luttrell and Sarah Ann Bryant. She married Milton Owen Thornton on 6 Jun 1850 in Schuyler County, Illinois but they must have moved quickly to Missouri where their son was born. Family stories tell that he knew Judith was pregnant when he married her and he knew the child was his.

Judith died around 1858 in Pulaski County, Missouri (when she was only 27) whereupon Milton immediately took their 7 year old son, William Shelton Thornton, back to Illinois and left him with Judith's parents. I have that Judith was buried in Glover Chapel Cemetery, South of Hawkeye, Pulaski County, Missouri but cannot find any such place so her burial is currently unknown. There is a Glover Cemetery in nearby Camden County but that is North.

Their child:

1. William Shelton Thornton, b. 27 Jan 1851 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri, d. 23 Mar 1925 in Browning, Schuyler County, Illinois.

NOTE: Many people believe that Sarah Jane Thornton is also Judith's child, however, this is disputed according to the bible record which indicates she is the child of Elizabeth Elender Floyd.
