Mrs. Alice Adrian Taylor, daughter of Lee and Mary Murphy, was born in Appanoose country on Sept. 13, 1897, and departed this life at her home north of Mystic, on Feb. 14, 1962, at the age of 64 years, five months and one day.
She was one in a family of four children with one sister and two brothers. Most of her life was spent in Appanoose country, Iowa.
She joined the Christian Church early in life.
She was united in marriage to Fred Lee Taylor on April 25, 1926. To this union were born four children, one son and three daughters. They also raised a nephew, Floyd Green.
She was a loving wife and mother and a kind friend to all who knew her.
Her parents, two brothers, and one grandchild preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband at home; her three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Brown of Plano, Mrs. Evelyn Davison of Numa, and Mrs. June Young of Seymour, one son, Earl, of Corydon and her nephew, Floyd Green of Ottumwa, 13 grandchildren; one sister, Cora Murphy, in the home, other relatives and many friends.
The funeral was conducted br Rev. Gerald Noland, Saturday, Feb. 17, 1962, at the Liggett funeral home. Burial was in Jerome cemetery. Mrs. James Anderson Jr. sang two comforting hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Harley Merritt.
Casket bearers were Glen McNair, Merle Adams, Floyd Riner, Clarence Riner, Delbert Calhoun and John David Bohm, all cousins of Mrs. Taylor.
