JUNE A. YOUNG
June Alladean Young, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Murphy) Taylor , was born June 16, 1932 in Appanoose Country, Iowa.
She was raised in the Iconium area. She passed away unexpectedly December 21, 1989 at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital, Centerville, Iowa at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 5 days.
June was united in marriage to Harold Young May 6, 1950 and to this union three children were born.
June graduated from Moravin High School in 1949. She worked at various jobs including approximately nine years at the Seymour Cleaners, St. Mercy Hospital; McGraw- Edison and owned the East Side Cafe for several years. The last few years she enjoyed her occupation of wife, mother and grandmother.
June was preceded in death by her husband and infant twin granddaughters.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Harold of Seymour, three children, Peggy Essick of Warsaw, Indiana; Sheryl Christine of Seymour and Jerry Young of Seymour; son-in-law, Frank Essick and daughter-in-law, Teresa Young. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Benjamin Essick, Caleb Christine and Stephanie and Jerel Young; sisters; Ruth Brown and family of Seymour, and Evelyn Davison of Centerville; a brother Earl Taylor and family of Ottumwa; foster brother, Floyd Green and family of Ottumwa; mother-in-law Trella Young of Seymour; brothers-in-law; Bernard Young and family of Seymour and Floyd Young and family of Arkoma, Oklahoma, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
June had spent her last few years at home giving of herself to her family. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren who called her Mimi. She thoroughly enjoyed each one of them and could always tell of a special antic they had recently done. Another enjoyment was big family dinners and her grandson Benjamin said he always liked to come to Iowa to eat Mimi's good food. June will be missed by her family for as grandson Caleb expressed "Grandma was the paper clip that held us all together. " Our tears are not for her, for we know she is peaceful in Heaven; our tears are because we will miss her special presence in our lives.
Services were held Sunday, December 24, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. from the Randolph Funeral Home, Seymour, Iowa with Pastor Don Ploessor officiating. The hymns "The Old Rugged Cross", "Beyond The Sunset " and "Silent Night " were sung by Milton Albertson, accompanied by Bernice Kerwin, the pallbearers were Jim Young. Rick Brown, Vernon Brown, Donald Davidson, Gilbert Sanders and Verlon Metzger. Internment was in Southlawn Cemetery, Seymour, Iowa. There was a memorial established to the family.
