Mrs. Abbie Dallison Gabbert, 85, descendant of one of Wood county’s pioneer families, and widow of Philander K. Gabbert, early oil boom figure, died at 11:30 p.m. yesterday in the Camden-Clark Memorial hospital.
She had been confined to the hospital for the past two and one half weeks with a fractured hip.
A resident of Williamstown, Mrs. Gabbert was a member of the Methodist church of Williamstown. The community of Dallison, on U.S. Route 50, east of Parkersburg, was named for her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence J. Smith of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Esther Gabbert Livingston, of State College, Pa., and two sons, Collis O. Gabbert of Tampa, Fla., and Biba A. Gabbert of Williamstown.
Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete will be handled by the Doudna and McClure funeral home, of Marietta. Burial will be in the Williamstown cemetery.
