Luther Yellowrobe, Sr., Mo'ohtaenahkohe "Black Bear", 71, of Lame Deer, MT was called home to Maheo on September 16, 2020.


Luther was born on June 28, 1949 to Moses Yellowrobe Sr. and Madeline Hadley in Hardin, MT.


Luther had five children, Luther Jr., Lucinda, Loveda, William (Billy Joe), Garette. He made his home in Sweet Medicine. He was always up for adventure no matter where it led him, from taking vacations, to spending time with his family.


Luther was a Chevy man, everything Chevy. He was a head start bus driver and firefighter. Luther was on a pool league, enjoyed riding his Camaro, and listening to music. He worked as a janitor for the Northern Cheyenne Tribe for 20 years.


Luther is survived by his wife, Joetta Yellowrobe of Lame Deer; sons, William (Billy Joe) of Riverton, WY, Garette of Hardin, MT, Luther Jr. of Lame Deer, MT; daughters, Lucinda and Loveda of Billings; grandkids, Anita, Promise, Baby John, and Palleana; mother, Madeline Yellowrobe; brothers, Jarvis (Esther), Moses (Mary), Maynard (Jenny); sisters, Ida (Mike) of Lame Deer, Jeannie, Donelda (Rob) of Billings, Matilda (Tilly), and Gladys.


He is preceded in death by his dad, Moses Yellowrobe Sr.; auntie, Nancy Yellowrobe; grandson, Dale Brady III, Jerry American horse, Christine Bigback, Ida Geionety, Gladys Hudley, Mathieas Bigback, Marie Brady, Tim Jefferson, Jean Poitra, Douglas Limberhand, and Bobby Cook.
