OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, OCTOBER 10, 2003:

BETTY L. MATTINGLY Age 70, a lifelong Hobart resident, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 5, 2003 after a long battle with Picks Disease. Betty Lou was a retired medical transcriptionist, a graduate of St. Bridget Grade School and Hobart High School. She was a member of St. Bridget Church and St. Anne's Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was an amateur graphologist and enjoyed putting on graphology programs for area clubs and organizations.

She is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Norbert M.; 4 children, Greg Mattingly, Karen (John) Santarossa, Chris (Tim) Rearick and Lisa (Bob) Young; 7 grandchildren; 1 sister, Rita Mauser. Preceded in death by father, F.J. Frett and mother, Mary (Thyen) Frett; and brother, Jack Frett.

Family wishes memorials to be given to Porter County VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Private services were held on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Rees Funeral Home, 219-942-2109.
