There will be no formal visitation. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 5, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Tietz officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Ernest William Groba, Jr. was born on January 29, 1911 in Taylor, Texas to Ernest and Anna (Ashleman) Groba, Sr. He married Mary Goetz on December 2, 1934 and this marriage was blessed with one daughter. Ernest was a life long member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Taylor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ernest spent his life farming in Williamson, Travis and Milam Counties. He was a member of the Sons of Hermann Lodge. He will be greatly missed by his many loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Groba, his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Ernest is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Davis and her husband Bill of Taylor Lake Village; a sister, Irene Cottingham of Pensacola, FL.; grandchildren, Amber Lounsbury, Emrie Wilkes; Trae Davis; 9 great grandchildren, Ashley, Angie, Ana, Frank, Sam, Rachel, Cotton, Walker, Cannon; and a numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 401 W. 7th Street, Taylor, Texas 76574.
