The funeral for Omar Glen Bergdall, 93, will be at 2pm Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. A private interment will be directed by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born May 25, 1899, near Petersburg, WV to Henry H. and Martha Harman Bergdoll and died Monday, May 10, 1993 at Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield, KS. He had moved to Oklahoma at the age of nine and settled on a farm near Meno.
On Nov. 25, 1920, he married Mary Elizabeth "Marie" Swartz. They farmed in the Meno community for 52 years. She preceded him in death.
On Sept. 6, 1974, he married Nina Rowe at Winfield, KS, where they made their home. He was both a member and active worker of the Methodist Church in Oklahoma and Tisdale, KS.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Ruth Ehmke of Winfield, KS, Bertha Patton of Enid, OK and Betty Crabtree of Nashville, TN; one stepdaughter, Phyllis Valentine of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Edna Eck of Meno, OK; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Tisdale Methodist Building Fund or the Concord Cemetery Association.
