November 13, 1917 – February 17, 2007
Martha J. Baker, 89, of Michigan City, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:35 A.M. at Fountainview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in LaPorte, IN.
The funeral will be Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor John D. Hall officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday 3-7 P.M. and on Wednesday until the time of service. Cremation will follow.
Martha was born November 13, 1917 in Bloomington, IN to Leslie and Mary (Dillman) Allogood who are deceased. On November 9, 1936 in Michigan City she was married to Walter T. Baker who died May 3, 1992.
Surviving are a daughter and five sons; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Ellen Steinke of Michigan City and another sister of Bloomington, IN and a special friend; brothers Donald Allgood and David Allgood are deceased. Also preceding her in death was a son-in-law, Lenny Koselke in 1978.
Mrs. Baker was a retired obstetrician technician at Memorial Hospital where she delivered hundreds of babies for 30 years, many of which were 2nd generation. She was a member of Grace Church and a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother.
