Mitchell Baker, a resident of the Dreyfus area of Madison County all his life, died Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Kenwood Healthcare in Richmond. He was the son of the late Burnom and Gladys Hunter Baker and member of Knob Lick Baptist Church.
Mitchell was an avid model car collector, loved drawing horses and cars (especially Chevrolets), puzzles, old movies and old westerns. He read his Bible every day and would tell anyone who disturbed him that he would talk later because he was reading his Bible.
He is survived by 4 sisters, Sheila Evans (William Abney), Myrna Hehr, (Wally), Paulette Gilliam (Gene), Ruth Felty; sisters-in-law, Liza Baker, Donna Baker; his nephew Daniel Baker who was his devoted guardian; surviving aunt and uncle, Barbara and Maurice Dula; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Nolan Baker, Dale Baker, Danny Baker, Donna Gabbard and Carolyn Bradley.
