The 1675 will of William Sprague of Hingham mentions his daughter Mary and her husband Thomas King. Thomas and Mary moved to the part of Taunton, Massachusetts, later set out as Freetown. They probably moved about 1674, since the last child's birth recorded in Weymouth was in 1673. Publications say he moved to Taunton in 1682, was Town Clerk there in 1700 and is buried in Dighton Cemetery.
Children of Thomas and Mary (Sprague) King:
1. John b. 29 August 1670 (Weymouth vital records)
2. Mary b. 12 June 1673 (")
3. Comfort b. abt 1692
Sources for Vital Records: His gravestone in Dighton Cemetery, included in the Dighton, MA, vital records, gives his age as 70.
