Billy was second to the oldest of 7 siblings. Billy enlisted in the Army at age 20. He was stationed in Fort Leonardwood, MO from 1952 -1954 before being shipped off to Korea. At the end of his military service, Billy returned to Denver and used his veteran benefits to buy a home for his family.
