Henry Christman Dead

Word was received here this morning announcing the death of Henry Christman at his home in Chicago at 7 o'clock Sunday morning after a week's illness of pneumonia.

Mr. Christman was a resident of Dixon from 1876 to 1890. He was born January 20, 1850, at Greenville, Pa., where he grew to manhood and married before coming to west. While living in Dixon he was employed as a cabinet maker with Camp & Son and was an industrious and capable workman. He took an active part in the A.O.U.W. and was one of the organizers of the Select Knights of America. He was also a member of Prof W. H. Smiths band while living here.

During his residence in Chicago he has been employed in one of the large piano factories. He leaves his wife (Naomi) and only son, Will H, to whom is extended the sympathies of many friends in Dixon. Mr Christman was a cousin of Mrs. Chas McBride of this city. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
