James was the owner & operator of Guffey Saddlery in Trenton for over 30 years and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1962- 1966.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Dora Berry Guffey, and sisters, Lucille McCampbell & Bonnie.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Betty R. Guffey; children, Matthew Guffey & Kecia Guffey, Trenton, GA, Teresa (Mike) Brown, Chattanooga, TN, & Mark (Terie) Guffey, Ohatchee, AL; grandchildren, Ashton Guffey, Abby Guffey, Leigha Brown, Leighton Brown, Tytus Guffey, Maddox Guffey, & Asher Guffey; sisters, Violet Rousseau, Wilma Thrasher, Joyce Davis, & Marilyn Lancaster; several nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens in Trenton with Rev. Jason Gilreath officiating.
