Vrooman Dopp Sr., 76, of 7 Place Street, died unexpectedly at 7:45 last night at Johnstown Hospital, where he had just been taken by ambulance after being stricken ill at his home. He had been seriously ill for the last several weeks. Born Sept. 28, 1895, in Rural Grove, he had resided in Gloversville for 40 years. Mr. Dopp had been engaged in roofing contracting, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mabel B.; four daughters, Miss Catherine B. Dopp, of Albany, Mrs. Adrtenne Hall of Johnstown, Mrs. Charlotte Hart of Mayfield, Mrs. Mary Washburn of Homer; a son, S-Sgt. Vrooman Dopp Jr., stationed at Pittsburgh Air Force Base; a brother, Wendell Dopp of Herkimer; 12 grandchildren. Burial was in Union Mills Cemetery, Broadalbin.
