Perlia and her husband, Percy, raised their twelve children and also adopted her niece, Thelma Imeldia Ferguson, in February 1929.

Mrs. MacVean, 61, Broadalbin, Dies in Schenectady Hospital

BROADALBIN, Jan 22 – Mrs. Perlia Dopp MacVean, 61, wife of Percy MacVean, died about 11:30 a.m. yesterday in Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

She was born November 20, 1890 at Rural Grove, the daughter of Daniel and Imelda (sic) Vrooman Dopp.

In 1909, she was married to Mr. MacVean.

Mrs. MacVean was a member of the Broadalbin Presbyterian Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband are eight sons, Clement MacVean, Vail Mills; Charles MacVean, Gloversville; Percy MacVean Jr., Nunda; Robert MacVean, Johnstown R.D.; Clarence MacVean, Ross MacVean, both of Johnstown; Arthur C. MacVean, Broadalbin; Cpl. Donald MacVean, Fort Tilden.

Five daughters, Mrs. Robert Hughes, Amsterdam; Mrs. Jack Everest, Johnstown R.D.; Mrs. Howard Brownell, Mrs. Norman Lester, Miss Ruth Ann MacVean, all of Broadalbin; and two brothers, Vrooman Dopp, Gloversville and Wendell Dopp, Mohawk.

The body was taken to the Jeffords funeral hom where it will remain until Thursday when it will be taken to the Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held that afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Harry B. Erkman, pastor of Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery.
