The following obituary for Edith was published in the Trenton Evening Times on Sunday, November 28, 1948 on page 34:

MISS EDITH D. AUSTIN

Miss Edith D. Austin, 73 years old, of 78 North Main Street, Yardley, died yesterday after a lengthy illness. She was a daughter of the late Matthew S. and Sarah J. Austin. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Hattie A. Crook of Yardley, and a brother Charles R. Austin.

The funeral will be held from Ivins & Taylor, 77 Prospect Street, on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Allen Morris, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, of which Miss Austin was a member, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
