OLD BAKERSFIELD RESIDENT DIES IN COUNTY HOSPITAL.

A. Gist, an old resident of Bakersfield, died at the county hospital Saturday afternoon. The funeral was held yesterday from the Salvation Army institute at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Gist, who was of German descent and 54 years old, leaves a widow and two children a boy and a girl, to mourn his loss.

A. B. GIST DIED ON CHRISTMAS[SIC] DAY

A. B. Gist, father of eight children, 55 years old, died Christmas[sic] Day at the county hospital. Mrs. Gist and daughter are connected with the local corps of the Salvation Army and the funeral services were held yesterday from the corps headquarters. Several of the Gist children reside outside of the city.
