Mrs. Mary E. Crooks, 65, wife of Ira Allen Crooks died in the family home on North Tipton street last evening. Mrs. Crooks was a native of Oregon and was born on April 27, 1867. She had resided in California for 63 years and had been a resident of Visalia for 10 years. She was a member of the Full Gospel church of this city.
Survivors include, besides the widower, three sons, Sanford Gist of Bakersfield, John H.[sic] Gist of Napa and Calvin Gist of Morgan Hill; four daughters, Lillie Gist of Napa, May Wallace, Doris Gerber and Flora Gist, all of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle K. Hanigan of Bakersfield and Mrs. Julian Gist, also of Bakersfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. A. E. Brooks & Son are in charge of arrangements. Rev. Gordon Shannon, pastor of the Full Gospel church of Visalia, is to officiate, and interment will be in the Visalia City cemetery.
