Marion Bridges, 88 of Paris, AR, died Wednesday, in the ER at a local hospital. He was born on Rich Mtn, Paris, AR to parents, Henry "King" and Lelah Arbelle (Reames) Bridges.

Marion worked several years for Phelps Dodge Copper Mining Co in Morenci, AZ. He also worked picking up turquoise for Lucky Brown in Morenci, AZ. He then returned to AR, and ultimately retired from the Ace Comb Plant in Booneville, AR.
He was a quiet man and loved the outdoors, hunting (especially coon hunting), gardening, his dogs, horses and of course his family.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II from 1941-1945, mostly serving in India and for awhile in Burma (which is now called Myanmar). His unit was B Battery, 464 CA Battalion Anti-aircraft Artillery (AAA).
He received Three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal & many additional awards/citations.

He married Juanita Spinks, and they had three children, he later married Elwanda Lowe on March 17, 1956, and they had eight children.

Survivors include his spouse: Elwanda (Lowe) Bridges.

Four Sons: Franklin "Frankie" Neal Bridges & wife JoNell of Stamford, TX, Ricky Leon Bridges & wife Sharon of Magazine, AR, Clifford Henry Bridges & wife Hermina of Subiaco, AR, and Anthony Joe Bridges of Paris, AR.

Six Daughters: Neta Roberts of Wichita Falls, TX, Debbie Krigbaum & husband Jimmy Dell, Linda Lovelace & husband Tommy Lee, both of Paris, AR, Wanda Hall & husband Robbie of Booneville, AR, Terri Whitley & husband Ronnie of Magazine, AR and Tena Case & husband Jimmy of Subiaco, AR.

Brother: H.K. Bridges & wife Irene of Paris, AR.
Sister: Raydene Carloss of Newark,CA.
There are 26 Grandchildren & 42 Great-Grandchildren (most living in Arkansas with a few in Texas).

He was preceded in death by his parents whom are buried in Moore Cemetery, Paris,AR;.
His former wife Juanita Spinks and one daughter, Janet Carol Bridges (died at the age of four) and both are buried in Safford, AZ;
Grandsons, Shane and Billy Joe Irwin; Great-Grandsons, Bradley and Troy Gene Irwin all buried at Paint Rock Cemetery, Paris, AR;
Sisters, Evelyn Hudson, Rose Melton, Vivian Goodson; and Brother, Kenneth Bridges all buried in Moore Cemetery.

Service was held at 2:00 p.m., September 15, 2007, First Assembly of God Church-Paris, burial in the Paint Rock Cemetery-Paris with Rev. Kenny Maness, officiating.

Pallbearers: Chris Boss, Rodney Clayton, Robbie Hall, Mike Churchman, Gary Biggs, Teddy Douglas. Honorary Pallbearers: A.P. Moore, Dub Sidwell, Rufus Nichols, Bill Young

Visitation was held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2007, Roller Funeral Home-Paris
