He enjoyed fishing, all sports, his dogs, but most of all he loved his family.
Born Saturday, February 17, 1945 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edwin DeWitt and the late Ruth Schultz DeWitt.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rebecca Riley DeWitt; a daughter: Trisha Jean Young of Cookeville, TN; a son: Toby and Angie (Martin) DeWitt of Indianapolis, IN; 7 grandchildren: Alyssa Michelle, Caleb William, Jonathan David, Haley Brooke and Micah Nathaniel Young, Corey Levi DeWitt and Chrissi Renee Marlett.
John chose cremation and the family followed his wishes. There will be a private memorial service on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 5:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
