She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County until 2001 when she moved to Greer SC. Lorene showed love and care to everyone. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Lawrence Mantooth; her brothers, Olane, Ernest, Paul and Boyd Arms; and her loving son, David Mantooth. On April 21, 1989 she lost her second husband, Gene Brown.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Frank) Ellis, Larry (Caroline) Mantooth and Ben (Debbie) Mantooth, all of Cleveland and Shirley (Dan) Watkins of Charlestown, WV; brothers, Wallace Arms of Delano, Marshel (Mary) Arms of Blountville, Bill (Rennie) Arms of Rogersville and Gene (Joyce) Arms of Smyrna; sister-in-law, Jannie Mantooth; 25 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; former daughters-in-law, Elaine Sanders and Vickie Mantooth; several nieces and nephews; and special hairdresser, Dejuana Hanners.
