MURPHYSBORO – Margaret “Peggy” McLaughlin, 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 6:40 am, Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Manor Court in Carbondale, Illinois.
Margaret was born in Ava, Illinois, on June 16, 1932, the daughter of Anton John and Inez Reba Hill Falkenhein. She married Alfred Cleo McLaughlin in Waterloo, Illinois, on October 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2012.
She was a member of Pate Chapel Baptist Church, Murphysboro, Illinois. She was retired from the DMV in Carbondale.
Peg is survived by three sons, T. McLaughlin, R. McLaughlin and G. (C.) McLaughlin all of Murphysboro; two daughters, Beverly (Roger) of LaCenter, KY, and Sondra “Sonnie” (Dennis) of Steeleville; grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, J. Falkenhein of Columbia, IL.
Peg was also preceded in death by her Parents; one sister, Helen Williams; and three brothers, Roy, William Paul and Robert Falkenhein.
Phase 4 guidelines will be in effect, using social distancing and facemasks.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 11:00 am, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
Burial will follow.
