Mary Haptonstall Dies Monday
Mary E. Haptonstall, 83, 400 N. Clay Street, Edinburgh, died early Monday morning at Johnson County Hospital where she had been taken at 9:01 Sunday night after becoming ill at her home. She had been in poor health for some time. She was the mother of Clifford Haptonstall of Columbus and sister of Lucille Lain of Edinburgh.
Funeral services were conducted today at 1:30 p.m. at Eskew Funeral Home by the Rev. Hugh Owen. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Haptonstall was born Aug. 10, 1897, in the former Kansas neighborhood of present Camp Atterbury, the daughter of James Edward and Nettie Wray Neville. She was married to Fred Haptonstall in 1919 and he died in 1933.
Other survivors include another son, Glenn Dale Haptonstall; a brother, Frank Neville of Greensburg; four other sisters, Ida Neville and Mildred Stillabower, both of Franklin, Dorothy Quack of Indianapolis and Clara Adams of Kokomo; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
