William was the son of Zachias Charles and Lula May Pridgeon Sheridan. He shares a stone with his wife, Julia Lewis Ray Sheridan, who he married 3 October 1922 in Houston, TX. Their son, Jake Ray Sheridan, is also buried in Garden of Memories.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Tuesday, 5 June 1973:

W. M. (Bully) Sheridan, 71, of Route 1, Palestine, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital here at 6:30 p.m. Monday following a brief illness.

Funeral services are to be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hassell & Foster. Chapel with the Rev. U. Van Sickle officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories at Elkhart.

The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers: Ray Coleman, Grady Sheridan, J. A. Murdock, Delbert Gatlin, Hunter Lee Sheridan and Charles Murdock. In addition to all friends of the family, honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Barnes, Buford Muncy, Bill Courtney, Lee Lumpkin and Grady Isbell.

Mr. Sheridan was born William Nugent Sheridan in Elkhart on March 10, 1902, a son of the late Z. C. Sheridan and Mrs. Lula Mae Pridgen Sheridan. He retired in 1957 after 34 years service as a pipeliner for the Gulf Oil Corporation. A Baptist, he returned to this area after retiring from work in the East Texas oil fields for Gulf.

A son, Jake Ray Sheridan, preceded him in death in 1935.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Lewis Sheridan, Palestine; tw sons, Michael Ray Sheridan and N. L. Sheridan, both of Houston; four brothers, Frank and Grady Sheridan, both of Elkhart, Jack Sheridan of Highlands and Joe Bailey Sheridan of Cantonment, Florida; a sister, Mrs. Bob Dwiggans of Beeville; four grandchildren, William Hunt Sheridan, Nancy Sheridan and Anne Sheridan, all of Houston, and Alison Sheridan of Ennis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolence calls at the residences of both Mrs. J. B. Hall and Mrs. M. F. Green.
