Nellie M. Davis

Nellie M. Davis, Round Lake, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was 89. Nellie was born July 21, 1931, in Baxter County, AR to RW and Ollie (Trivitt) Roberts, the youngest of 12 siblings.

Nellie married Price Biggers on March 24, 1950, in Mountain Home, AR. He passed away on April 16, 1961. She married Joseph R. Davis on June 4, 1961, in Mountain Home. They moved to Kansas City, MO where he worked at Armour & Co. After a while there, they moved to Kansas City, KS until he was transferred to the Armour plant in Worthington, MN in September of 1964. They lived in Round Lake, MN.

Nellie loved small children and relished in taking care of many whose parents had heard of her caring manner. She and Joe also delivered the Minneapolis Tribune on Saturday nights, no matter the weather. They also sold night crawlers to fishermen on their way to the Round Lake.

Nellie is survived by three daughters, Nadine Biggers (August) Froderman of Reading, Paula (Kurt) Wagley of Rushmore, and Sally (Troy) Kunze of Round Lake; four grandsons, Ronald (Peggy) Froderman of Reading, Randy (Lori) Olson Jr. of Round Lake, Nicholas Olson of Moose Lake, MN, and Collin Olson of Rushmore; two step grandchildren, Mariska and Mallorie; four great grandchildren, Austin (Cassandra) Froderman of Luverne and Ty Olson, Kiera Olson, and Seth Olson of Round Lake; one great great granddaughter, Ember; step great great granddaughter, Stevie, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a stillborn son, her son Ricky Joe Davis, grandson Christopher, her eleven siblings and their spouses.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at the Round Lake Cemetery in Round Lake, MN.
