Anna and her twin brother Joseph Alphonse were two of the eleven children (one adopted) of Joseph Nicholas Schaaf and Anna Mary Schleh. Her brother died in infancy. Anna was raised on the family farm in Dublin, MN. She and her brother John Paul are living there with their parents at the time of the 1920 census. In 1930, she is living with the family of her sister Veronica Cecilia (Vera) and brother in law James Casey in Sioux City, IA. In 1940 and 1950, she is a lodger in Northfield, Rice Cty., MN helping care for a member of her landlady's family. Anna also appears in the 1950 city directory of Northfield, MN. living at 601 S water Street. Anna died in Waseca but her burial place is unknown.
