Groves, Allison “Allie” Edward – Age 95, Upper Onslow, passed away in the home where he grew up on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Born in Onslow, he was a son of the late Arthur and Etta (Graham) Groves

. Allie lived on the family farm that he and his brother, Ralph, operated for many years together.

He enjoyed the outdoors and even mowed his own lawn up until a few weeks ago. Allie enjoyed the many weekly card games especially at the Kemptown Community Hall and was very appreciative of Bud Isenor, and Ken and Sharon MacLean for driving him each week.

He is survived by sister, Mildred “Millie” Langille and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Allie was predeceased by sisters, Marion “Kit” McCallum, Edna Hanham and Violet, in infancy; brothers, Ralph, Fred, Eric and Stanley Groves.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8th at 2 p.m. in Onslow Island Cemetery with Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. Covid-19 restrictions will be in effect, all are required to sign in with a funeral director for tracking, if need be.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity United Church, Upper Onslow or Onslow Island Cemetery.
