Mrs. Mary Eiland Holiman suffered a fatal heart attack at her residence on Sterling Avenue Wednesday, June 30. Services for Mrs. Holiman were conducted Friday, July 2 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Taylor Ballard and Rev. Leslie Nabors officiating.
Mrs. Holiman was a native of Montgomery County, the daughter of the late J. S. Eiland and Francis C. Rushing. She was married to J. P. Holiman, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. S. J. Ward of Houston, Texas; five sons, Elmer E. Holiman, Canton, Charles D. Holiman, Marysville, Washington, Erby Holiman, Paul Holiman both of Houston, Texas and Allen Holiman of Winona; two sisters, Mrs. Bert Crowell and Mrs. Sam Cartledge both of Houston, Texas, two brothers, Allen Eiland, Greenville and Roy Eiland of Drew; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Bill Gerard, Lloyd K. Moore, Guy Oliver, Clois Strahan, Barksdale Garner and Forrest Heath.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
