Allen Powell Eiland, Sr.
Allen Powell Eiland, Sr., 82, of 861 Ashburn Road, retired planter and plantation manager, died in the Arnold Arvenue Nursing Home Wednesday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel of National Funeral Home by the Rev. A. L. Meadows, pastor of First Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Hoyt White, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr Eiland was born in Montgomery County. He received his education in Montgomery County schools and Macon Business College, Macon, Ga. He lived for several years in Washington County and for the pasts 16 years had made his home in Greenville. He managed several Delta plantations and operated his own planting properties until his retirement in 1959. He was a member of First Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hattye Belle Eiland; a son, Allen Eiland, Jr., and a grandson, all of Greenville; a brother Roy Eiland of Drew; and two sisters, Mr. C.B. Crowell and Mrs. F.M. Cartledge, both of Houston, Texas.

The active pallbearers include F. H. Holiman, McLynn Webb, Rudolph Nabors, Robert Eiland, Sam Lloyd, Tom Perry and Allen Holiman.
