MRS. JOHN H. DRANE

Mrs. John H. Drane departed this life August 13th 1915, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Drane was for many, many years one of the most active members of the Baptist church and was for years president of the Woman's Missionary Society. A woman of strong Christian character, of determination, she became a leader in religious activity in this church, and remained such until her declining years and sickness forced her to lay down the work which she loved so to do. Mrs. Drane was loved and revered by the congregation of which she was a member and by the whole community who knew her as a sweet Christian woman; striking with all her strength to further the cause of Christ, whom she took delight in serving.

Unable during the last years of her life to do any active work, she took delight in the visitations of friends from whom she learned how the work of Christ was being carried on in the city. A Godly Christian Mother in Israel has left the cares of this world behind her and joined her Savior on High.

The death of Mrs. Drane takes from our midst a member of one of our oldest and most highly esteemed families.

The Times joins the many friends of the family in extending sympathy to them in the sad bereavement.

Her remains were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery to wait glad resurrection morn.
