Elijah was the son of William and Naomi (Sproles) Bostick and the husband of Elizabeth Norman Turner. He was the twin brother of Elisha Bostick. Their children included Sarah, Elizabeth Ann, Martha A., Mary Ann, Cornelia and Virginia Caroline. After Elijah died his widow then married David A. Boyd.
