Jeanette C. Blacker, 90, of Monticello died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at the Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.

Jeanette was born on Aug. 24, 1917, in Doniphan, Mo., the daughter of Cecil and Sallie Steel. She married Elmer Cresap in 1934. She later married John Blacker of White Heath on April 7, 1949, in Rochelle.

Surviving are her husband, John Blacker of Monticello; and four children, Terry (Yvonne) Cresap of Mountain Home, Ark., Sharon (David) Hartsfield of White Heath, Marcia Cresap of Vista, Calif., and Stan (Brenda) Blacker of White Heath. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Jeanette was a homemaker her entire life. She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, traveling and most of all being with her family. She was past president of the White Heath Community Club and a member of the Piatt County Farm Bureau. She belonged to the First Christian Church of Monticello.
