Funeral services for Mr. Melvin Kelley Hood, age 84, resident of Stewart, were held at Oliver Chapel Monday, April 5, 1993 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. John L. Walker officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Hood died after a lengthy illness Saturday, April 3 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Joe Hood and the husband of Mrs. Eula Mae Hitt Hood.

A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Hood was a retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Winona.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eula Mae Hitt Hood of Stewart; three daughters, Mrs. Eloise Thomas, Mrs. Annie Mae Blaylock and Mrs. Drucilla McClure, all of Winona; his son, Lloyd Hood of Winona; his sister, Mrs. Ora Belle Milton of Grenada; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Blaylock, Jr., Lloyd Hood, Jr., Michael Hood, Danny Woods, Raymond Acy and Trent Trussell.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Ingram, Edwin Ingram, Lagrone Cooper, Earl Marter and Billy Philly.

Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
