Services for David "Perry" Dark, 79, Tyler, are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home Chapel, Tyler, with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Dark died October 18 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Sept. 30, 1918 in Smith County to the late David L. and Laura Mae Bunch Dark. He attended Whitehouse schools and served in the Army. He lived in Whitehouse and Tyler most of his life and was a retired security officer for University of Texas Health Center at Tyler. He was preceded in death by daughter, Glenda R. Smith, and son, David E. Glenn.

Survivors include his wife, Mable J. Dark, Tyler; son Charles L. Dark, Flint; daughters, Patricia Ann Carpenter, and Sharon K. Moore, both of Tyler, and Glenda Lynn Lusk, McAllen; sisters Clara West and Agnes Roycroft, Whitehouse, and Thelma DuVall, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Clint Kilgore, Chuck Lusk, David L. Glenn, Bill Dowdy, Morris Ivy and Ronny Roycroft.

Thomas West, Stacy DuVall and J.L. Hayes will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
