Donald Graham, age 70, of Minden, formerly of Aurora, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in Minden.

A Graveside Service will be held at Richland Cemetery 11a.m. Saturday, July 25th. Rev. Bob Gannon will officiate. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Ray Graham, the son of Burnard and Iris ‘June’ (Posey) Graham, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on December 16, 1949 and passed away in Minden, Nebraska on July 22, 2020, at the age of 70.

He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School, Class of ’68.

Don was married to Louise Ljunggren on March 26, 1977. Don was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. While he could be hard at times, his main concern was the welfare of his family both physically and spiritually. Don loved the Lord and wanted to share Christ with others as much as possible. He did his devotions faithfully every morning and prayed for his family without ceasing. Don loved to work, even on his bad days. He told himself as long as God allows him to work, he will. He loved to help his children with projects, remodels and teaching them how to do things. His motto was “a house is not a home if it isn’t under construction”.

Don loved his wife so much, you could see the sadness in his eyes from how much he missed her when she was at work and cherished their time together. He adored his granddaughters and encouraged them to eat lots of sugar and to be as loud as possible.

While living in Aurora, Don owned Graham Plumbing and Heating and Air Conditioning for over 35 years which he took over for his late father. His wife and children all helped at one point or another with the family business. Don also drove school bus for a short period for the Aurora School System.

Don will be missed greatly by his family as they relied on him more than he knew. He worked very hard at being a good father and husband and was the best father and husband that we could have asked for. He always encouraged his kids to do the best that they could do, all for the Glory of God. We take comfort in knowing that he is at the right hand of the Lord and we will see him again someday in Glory.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bill Graham; infant son, Jonathan Graham; father-in-law, Lloyd Ljunggren; brother-in-law, Larry Ljunggren and grandparents.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Louise of Minden; three children, Kim Graham of Aurora; David (Jaylynn) Graham of Minden, and Sara Graham of Kearney; 2 grandchildren, Josie and Sophie Graham and other relatives and friends.
