HENRY HORNBECK DIES

Aged Resident of Fairbury Passed Away Monday Night

Fairbury, January 7 – The death of Henry Hornbeck
occurred Monday evening (January 6, 1913) at the family residence in the north part of Fairbury, after a brief illness. Mr. Hornbeck, in company with his wife, returned a week ago from an extended visit with relatives in Kansas and not feeling well he remained at home. Not many knew of their return from their trip or his sickness and his death proved a shock to many. Deceased lived on his farm three miles southwest up to two years ago, when he purchased the
present residence property and moved to town to lead a retired life in company with Mrs. Hornbeck. He was among the oldest farmers, very jovial, and “Uncle Henry,” as he was known by everyone, had hosts of friends.

He was 82 years old and aside from his wife leaves two married daughters, who, with their families, reside near Fairbury, Mrs. W.M. Henderson and Mrs. William Wilson.

The funeral is to be held from the M.E. Church Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., and the burial in the family lot in the Cooper Cemetery, five miles southwest of Fairbury.
