Mrs. Mary Alice Parks, 90 years of age, died on Monday, June 15 at the Plainview Nursing Home near Albany. Funeral services were conducted last week at Matkins by the Rev. Ogden and the Rev. Ted Aschen. Burial was in the Foster
cemetery. She was born on April 5, 1863, in Iowa, a daughter of Granville and Mary Akes. At the age of 2 years she moved with her parents to Gentry county, Missouri, where she lived the greater part of her life. At an early age, she united with the Methodist church at Matkins and remained a member until her death. On July 21, 1877 she was united in marriage to George Wesley Parks, who
preceded her in death in 1928. This union was blessed with nine children: Edward who preceded her in death: Mrs. Elizabeth Rhodes of Sedro Wooley, Washington: Mrs. Idella Northcutt, of Yuma, Colo: Granville, of Lawrence Kan.;
Marvin, of New Hampton; Walter, of McFall; Mrs. Mamie Dotson, of McFall; Roy, of Osceola, Nebr.; and Floyd, of McFall. Besides her children, she leaves 26
grandchildren, 45 great-granchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of friends. Mrs. parks had been in failing health for a number of years, but her
last illness was just a few days.
