Correne P. Redding, 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997 after an extended illness. Mrs. Redding was born March 30, 1924 in Polk County. She was a homebound helper. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shalline Carroll, and two sons, John Ricky Parrish, and Junior Parrish. Surviving are: husband Emanuel Redding of Cedartown; two daughters, Helen Hampton and Patricia South, both of Gainesville; son Robert Parrish of Cedartown; stepdaughter, Kathy Redding of Cedartown; three brothers Raymond Redding, Rayford Redding, both of Cedartown and Steve Redding of Alabama; 25 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home, with Rev. John Vines officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Lamar Hampton, Preston Brown, Matt Groover, Hershel Weddington, Rayford C. Redding, Stacy Lyles, Hershel Ballew, and Tony Hulsey. The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
