Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Butler, 88, of 606 Euclid, will be at 1 p.m. today in Osborn Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Butler died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in Nursecare Nursing Home after a long illness.

The Columbia native was an artist and had lived in Shreveport for 65 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a charter member and a founder of Shreveport Art Club and Louisiana Artists Inc.

Mrs. Butler has won many prizes in local and Southern art shows. She was a member of the Altrusa Club for more than 30 years.

Survivors include a nephew, James J. Cuthbert Jr. of Rayville; and two great-nephews, James J. Cuthbert III of Monroe and Robert W. Cuthbert of Rayville.

Officiating for the services will be the Rev. Henry Bowden Jr. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James J. Cuthbert III, Robert W. Cuthbert, Felton Abbitt, Willis Abbitt, Larry Abbitt and Neal Hargrove.
