Gladys Johanna Aaland, 90, passed away at her residence and went to be with her Father in Heaven on May 26, 2012.

Her gracious life was a reflection of the love of Jesus in her. All who knew her will remember her for her big heart, always doing for others before herself. She had a great sense of humor, was light-hearted, happy and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012.

Gladys was born in Park River, North Dakota to the late John and Clara Lovaasen.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, John Otto Aaland, and a great-grandchild, Gus Aaland.

Survivors include those she loved most, her family...her daughters: Judy (Bill) Raines, Sandra (Jim) Jorgensen, and Deborah (Joseph) Sorensen; her grandchildren: Chris (Shelly) Aaland, Stephanie (John) Train, Candace (Brian) Yoffe, Jens (Anh) Jorgensen, Britt Sorensen (Danny) Graves, and Billy Raines; along with her great-grandchildren: Cameron, Jason, Otto, Emma, and Roland; and one sister, Hazel Lien, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gladys' name may be made to Springs Rescue Mission, 5 West Las Vegas Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
