Hazel C. Lovaasen was born November 29, 1923 in Park River, ND, the daughter of the late John and Clara (Grovom) Lovaasen. She graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River in 1941. She was united in marriage to Wallace Lien on March 20, 1947. The couple lived and farmed near Park River, ND until retiring in 1981. Wallace passed away on August 26, 1995.
She was a member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and WELCA of Park River, ND. She is survived by her children: Michael (Bev) Lien, Grand Forks, ND; Grant (Jennifer) Lien, New London, MN; Becky (Jim) Hall, Moyock, NC; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wallace, brothers: Alvin, Melvin and Norence; sisters: Josephine and Gladys. Hazel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Golden Valley Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
