Immigrated in 1848
Michael Boes and his twin brother, Adam Boes immigrated from Gohr, Germany in 1848. They immigrated to USA via New Orleans and then to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. They left this area within a couple years and barged down the Ohio River, Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and ended up in the Loose Creek, MO area. Adam Boes (Michael's twin) married Anna Gertrude Rosellen on October 30, 1851. Their wedding was 1st entry in the Immaculate Conception Parish Book of Marriages by Father Buschjost. Adam Boes applied for citizenship in 1855, but, before it was granted, he died on January 28, 1856 and was buried at Loose Creek. Michael Boes then married this same Anna Gertrude Rosellen on April 6, 1856. In 1888 Michael and Anna Gertrude moved to Rich Fountain, to live out their days.
