She passed away peacefully Tuesday morning July 7, 2020.
Along with her twin sister, Ruth Scales- who passed three months ago- Naomi graduated from Adkins High School and Livingston College.
She was the administrative assistant at Winston-Salem State for 32 years to Fine Arts Chairmen Roland Watts, Faustina Holman, etc. until her retirement in 1992. She also worked for the Boys & Girls Club in New York for a while after college.
She was a devout Christian and long-time member of Scales Memorial Chapel (named after her father) on 5056 Butterfield Drive. She was one of the most giving and nicest people you could ever meet.
Ms. Attucks is survived by one brother, Henry Scales of Bronx, NY; her two nephews, Idris Saifullah (known as Irvin Scales) and Grady Scales; several great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A small private service will be held at a later time.
