Cornelia Lynch SCHUYLER was the 13th of 15 children born to parents Maj. Gen. Philip John Schuyler and Catherine VAN RENSSELAER Schuyler, eight of whom survived to adulthood. A previous sibling, also named Cornelia, died in infancy in 1762.

Cornelia Lynch SCHUYLER marr. Washington Morton on 8 Oct 1797 in Stockbridge, Mass. where they eloped. The Facebook site for the Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site History Museum in Albany, New York, notes Cornelia and Washington Morton had five children before the early deaths of Cornelia in 1808 and Washington on 3 May 1810 in Paris. Washington Morton's death was not reported in the newspapers until August, 1810.

The obituary for Mrs. Cornelia Lynch Morton in The United States Gazette (Philadelphia, PA) of 13 June 1808, p. 1, notes that she died in Philadelphia, where she had gone "...for the benefit of her declining health..." and that "...her remains were taken to be interred in the family vault in Albany."
