Our children have called me Wendy for over 50 years and before that my brothers started using that name after we saw Mary Martin and the original cast of the musical play Peter Pan on Broadway. Sadly for him my husband’s name was Captain Hook. But he played his part like a trooper sometimes running from our dog the “crocodile” on his hands and knees shrieking in horror.
Some of us try so hard to grow up when we’re young. We don’t realize that Neverland is a place to stay for awhile. Mr and Mrs Darling sometimes tend to teach us to strive so very very hard. We’re taught our ABC’s before we’re a year old. That’s OK but play is one of the best educations a child can have.
And when we do grow up we forget the little joys of our childhood and as adults we become so serious that we become old before our time. Take time to have fun, laugh, be silly—life is too short.

There’s an Irish Blessing I would like to pass on to you all

A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you
A sheltering Angel,
So nothing can harm you,
Laughter to cheer you
Faithful friends near you
And whenever you pray
