Obituary
Died, at the residence of N. [athaniel] Orme, May 14, '95, Mrs. Mary [Mahala] E.[lizabeth Burch] Carmichael The subject of this sketch was born in Indiana December 4, 1828. She was married in 1846 to Augustin Carmichal [Carmichael], who died a number of years ago. To this union were born ten children, all of whom survive her. In 1866 she and her husband moved to Page County, Iowa, and three years later removed to Nodaway County, where she has since resided.
She became a member of the Baptist church in 1859 and lived a consistent life unto the day of her death. During her last illness she manifested the grace of patience. The funeral services were conducted by A. L. Cooper at the residence of her son-in-law, N. [athaniel] Orme.
