Clara Angela Cowee Unruh, 78, of Billings was born April 27, 1942 in Wibaux, Montana, the daughter of Marnie and Viola Cowee. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, July 5, 2020.

On October 3, 1958, Clara married Lanny Unruh, the love of her life, in Glendive and together they had three beautiful daughters in Glendive, Montana. They enjoyed 49 years together. They were inseparable. Lanny passed in 2007 and Clara lost a large piece of her heart. She has finally got her heart back and is dancing with the love of her life.

After moving to Billings, she worked at Wilcoxson’s Ice Cream for many years. The highlights of her life were her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the glue that held a large and wonderful family together. Clara had a heart of gold and always put everyone before herself with unconditional love. She always had a smile and a hug ready.

Clara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandma, and friend. She leaves behind her daughters, Kammy Johnson, Lani (Jim) Wyse and Tonni (Brad) Zuroff, 7 grandchildren, Cassie (Doug) Enderson, Jeremy (Brittney) Johnson, Kylie (Wyatt) O’Neill, Jaley and Sydnee Wyse, Travis (Amanda) Zuroff, and Jessi Zuroff, 5 great-grandchildren, Reese, Jake, Sawyer and Luke Enderson , and Kendall Johnson, 2 sisters, Linda Dschaak and Betty (Richard) Taylor, a brother, Donald (Kristi) Cowee, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends including Darold Johnson, Ralph Snyder and Rocky Reinhart to name a few.

She is preceded inn death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers, Gary and Larry Cowee, a half-brother Bob Beeler, and a nephew Timothy Dschaak.

Clara will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitations will begin Thursday at Smith Downtown Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10 at Smith Downtown Chapel with interment to follow at Mountview Cemetery.
