They lived in Texas for many years. Children born to this union: William Henry and Vernard S. Gary Jr.

Vernard died in 1956 in Texas (Wink or Garland, Texas possibly) and is buried in the Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato, MN. in the family plot with his parents and wife.

09/19/2007 Updated information from Vernard Gary Sr.'s grandson Matthew Gary:

"My Grandfather-Vernard Sr.-resided in Wink when he passed, but he may have been visiting my Uncle Bill (Wm.) in Garland when he died. Vern Sr. wore many different hats-land speculator (that brought him and his family from MN to Amarillo, TX), court reporter (he had his own version of shorthand), lawyer and judge (in several counties in west TX but based in Wink of Winkler County, TX), and even later returned to the sea as Merchant Marine (which he had done early in his married life or before marriage.)"
