DIES HERE, PLAN
SERVICES THURSDAY

Carl R. Francis, 68, of 819 S. Locust st. died in St. Mary's hospital at 10:30 p.m. Monday. Death was due to heart disease.

Mr. Francis was born in Carbon Hill, Ohio but came to Centralia in 1906. He formerly was a coal miner but went into the grocery business in 1918 and operated a store at 819 S. Locust st.

He was first married to Lillie Thurston in 1909. She died in 1918 and in 1921 he was remarried to Gertrude Sternberg who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Miss Myrtle Francis, a son, Earl Francis, both of Centralia, a brother, Grover Francis of St. Genevieve, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Roy McGrath of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Maude Brooks of Hilton Village, Va., and Mrs. Sherman Brooks of Zanesville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Galbreath Funeral home with the Rev. Louis Bean officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
